Rocky Mountain Valve SymposiumThe Rocky Mountain Valve Symposium is a series of surgical workshops that have been sponsored by the International Heart Institute of Montana Foundation since 1990. The 2-3 day symposia and hands-on workshops address issues related to imaging, diagnosing, and treating heart valve disease. The 2012 conference addresses issues related to imaging as well as the surgical repair and replacement of the diseased aortic valve and aortic root. An interactive, live teleconference format is used to present patient case histories, pre- and postoperative diagnostic findings, and live surgical procedures.

Following live surgical demonstrations, formal lectures, and interactive discussions, participants attend wet lab sessions demonstrating valvular repair and implantation techniques. This course provides a forum for open communication among interventional and non-interventional cardiologists, surgeons, and anesthesiologists as related to the diagnosis and treatment of heart valve disease.
