About Us
The International Heart Institute of Montana Foundation was founded in 1995 when Dr. Carlos M. G. Duran came to Missoula with the dream of beginning a research and education foundation closely allied with a cardiovascular clinical practice. St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center and the University of Montana came together to help bring this to life. In its first 10 years, the Foundation has developed three laboratories for basic and translational research. It has become a leader in the area for Clinical Research. It has been part of training over 4000 physicians from around the world in surgical cardiac anatomy and valve reconstruction techniques. The International Heart Institute of Montana Foundation has an operating budget of two million dollars annually. It is led by a board of directors of ten. The International Heart Institute of Montana Foundation continues to reach toward its goal of fostering excellent cardiac patient care through research and education. As a growing international leader in this field, each year more impacts on patient care are made.
The International Heart Institute of Montana Foundation is located at St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center in Missoula, Montana.
