Dr. Hiro attended medical school at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, obtaining his MD degree in 1971. He trained at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri and the University of South Florida in Tampa as a general and vascular surgeon. Dr. Hiro went into solo private practice in Tampa, Florida until 1979. From 1979-1981, with a desire to practice cardiothoracic surgery, Dr. Hiro pursued additional training at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He then returned to Tampa and joined in private practice with Pupello, Bessone, Hiro, Lopez-Cuenca, and Glatterer, MDs, P A. In November of 1994, Dr. Hiro moved to Missoula and joined Drs. James Oury and Joseph Cleveland to practice cardiothoracic and vascular surgery in Missoula. Along with performing coronary artery bypass surgery and heart valve surgery, Dr. Hiro also specializes in thoracic and vascular surgery.
